I finally allowed myself to be distanced from my beloved Dad. In our lifetime together I had always hung on his every word and believed every one of his opinions in life to resonate with my own. In learning that this doesn’t serve me and that he actually had flaws I become liberated… but lonely. In understating what it is to be an empath I realise that I learnt it from him. He was the ulitmate ‘good doctor’ empath who made time for everyone else maladies whilst absorbing them into himself without knowing how to protect himself.
