This was a meditative painting to make. Ordered and structured but with vibrant colours. There is a balance and respect for the delicacy of the brain but also a desire to colour it as something creative and beautiful. Has the duality of scientific fact (anatomy) and creativity (no boundaries) dissolved allowing the two to co-exist when they couldn’t before? Life is fragile yet powerful and here in this image it’s being held and protected. Read more about the Mental Health project here.
